science week [13th - 18th november 2017] in carlow
EUREKA is a new, fun and interactive Science and Technology Festival for Carlow and its neighbouring counties . The festival was established to promote STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) topics, subjects, and career opportunities to various demographic groups. A wide range of events and activities is planned for Science Week, which runs from 12th – 19th November 2017 and will be formally launched in the Institute of Technology Carlow on Monday 13th of November. Events include, active learning workshops, exhibitions, demonstrations, interactive seminars, STEM themed cake competition, debates, a STEM table quiz, movie and a fireworks display.
This festival is the result of a strategic collaboration between the Institute of Technology Carlow, Carlow Museum and the County Library in Carlow. It is envisaged that this will become a flagship STEM calendar event, drawing upon innovative outreach methods to promote interest and discourse in STEM subjects and topics for young and old alike. ” Science Foundation Ireland (SFI) is the national coordinator of Science Week, a promotional event which is now in its 22nd year.
